YOUTH AT UNION
Union’s youth program focuses on spiritual growth and promoting awareness of opportunities to serve the world beyond our walls.
Opportunities to:
LEARN
Sunday School is offered for all ages and meets regularly throughout the school year (see also Education Page)
Confirmation is a two-year class beginning in 8th grade.
PARTICIPATE
Children and Youth participate in worship, leadership and fellowship by:
Serving as acolytes and liturgists Providing child care
Ushering and greeting Hosting coffee hour
Providing special music
BUILD COMMUNITY
Biweekly meetings form a community of fellowship and fun
Out-of-State Mission Trips through service organizations like Passport and Youth Works
Summer Youth Conferences at Montreat, NC
SERVE
Through Mission Trips and Fund-raisers the youth have actively supported many organizations:
In Our Community: Green County Food Pantry, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County, Green Haven Family Advocates, Monroe Christmas Stocking Fund
And Beyond: World Hunger Missions, Heifer Project International (raised $5,000 to fund a complete ark of pairs of animals for farmers in third world countries, Laborei Boys' School in St. Lucia-supporting the work of one of our own who serves there as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
